DEADMAU5 LIVE INTIMATE INSTORE APPEARANCE & SIGNING CONFIRMED!
Sydney CBD is set to come to a standstill next Thursday, December 3rd as Grammy-nominated, Juno Award-winning electronic music sensation DEADMAU5 is set to do a live appearance & signing at Sydney's Virgin Megastore on George St. With his most recent US instore appearance at Santa Monica's Apple store causing road closures and a police shut-down, this is a not-to-be-missed event allowing deadmau5's hugely loyal Sydney fans the exclusive opportunity to enjoy a 30 minute intimate set and a chance to meet the notoriously media shy deadmau5 - aka Joel Zimmerman - in person. Currently touring nationally with the Stereosonic festival, this will be a once in a lifetime change for fans to come face to face with the mouse himself. Performance will begin at 4.30pm for 30 minutes, followed by 1 hour signing. This is a strictly first come, first serve event. Due to limited capacity doors will be closed once venue is full. Fans are encouraged to bring their copy of his album For Lack Of A Better Name along to gain his signature. 4.30pm Thursday, December 3rd Virgin Megastore, 343 George St Sydney 2000. /////////////////////////////////////// His name may conjure up images of a lifeless rodent, but the Canadian born self-confessed techno geek otherwise known as DEADMAU5 (pronounced Dead Mouse) punches like a heavyweight. On October 2, the Grammy nominated, Juno Award-winning electronic music sensation who has racked upmore than 5,000,000 hits on MySpace will unleash his second album - titled FOR LACK OF A BETTER NAME - and then set off on a massive world tour which sees him grace the stage at the forthcoming Stereosonic festival here in Australia (where he is billed THE HEADLINING act - well ahead of Fedde Le Grand, The Bloody Beetroots and all the rest). Over the last two years, DEADMAU5 has gone from near obscurity to becoming an international superstar as an innovative live performer. This past spring he sold out two nights at New York City's Webster Hall and one night at Hollywood, CA's legendary 4,000- capacity Palladium. This summer he'll perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Electric Zoo in New York, Glastonbury in the U.K. and a host of other European festivals. Locally, the deadmau5 name in Australia is synonymous with sold-out festival crowds and bone shaking, sweat dripping club tours, having graced our shores on three different tours over the past 2 years, developing a hugely committed fan base along the way. On For Lack Of A Better Name, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2008 debut Random Album Title, DEADMAU5 takes a different turn by incorporating various styles of music into multi-blocks of songs. The album will include "Ghosts 'N' Stuff," featuring Pendulum's Rob Swire, and the title track, both of which he'll perform on tour. Further details about the album will be unveiled at a later date.
