About me

Jerome (Jay) Sebag is a singer, songwriter, arranger and piano player from Paris, France.
After studying classical piano, singing in gospel choir, performing in jazz piano bar, Jerome decided he was ready to move to the USA to pursue his dream and seek for improvement.
He stops by L.A. and starts a songwriting collaboration with first class percussionist and producer Arno Lucas (Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight…), and ends up in NewYork, in the historical label Motown, in development for his first neo-soul album.
In the meantime, Jerome continues to write for others, among which french superstar Amel Bent (over 1 million records sold), with 2 major hit songs: “tu n’es plus là” and “Où je vais”.
From there, he laid his first french album, and performed in many parisian stages including the ‘Olympia’, opening for Eric Benet.
But Jay is primorly known for his vocals on House Music tracks.
Since the success of the hit “Rocking Music” (Number one in the UK, Italy…), he has appeared as superstar french DJ-producer Martin Solveig‘s main singer, with 7 recordings including the hit songs “Rejection”, “Something better” and “C’est la vie”, played all around the planet.

DEFINITLY SOULFULL, IT HAS TO BE BUILT TO MAKE THE EMOTION GROW UPPER AND UPPER, GOING FROM SMOOTH N SEXY TO SCTRICTLY ENERGETIC

Who are your musical idols and inspirations?

Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Brian Mc Knight, Kirk Franklin (contemporary gospel, amazing for both emotion n energy, like I said before)…

We plan to break into your car - what can we expect to find in your CD player?

A big mess: piece of equipement like cords, small keyboard, drums elements, cds, car stuff…most of the time, I’m riding my motorbike though, the traffic is too bad in Paris!

Your fool proof hangover cure?

Just drink water, sleep as much as I can, PUT ON EAR PLUGS IF NECESSARY!!!

Is getting laid a big part of being a DJ?

I’m a singer…that would be my way to avoid the question!!!!!!

One record you're embarrassed to admit you own?

Call me a liar but I really can’t think of anyone…maybe a porn soundtrack I cut a few years ago back when I was starving……just kidding!!!

The weirdest thing a fan has ever done?

Order me to follow her in her place to spend the night, and when I said I was leaving in the morning, she said ‘no problem we’ll spend just an hour’…not that weird I guess, but it was the tone: like I said, she was giving an order!

One thing you're willing to confess to your fellow Munkys?

Well, I’m trying to work out, eat healthy and all, but no matter what the politicaly correct dictates about the fact that u don’t need to get fucked up to have fun…well it’s true, u don’t, but I looove it. Being drunk, after party, and lots of action….only every once in a while though, too dangerous otherwise!!!!! And never BEFORE I perform!
