Hook N Sling
About me
Sydney-born DJ and producer Hook N Sling, aka Anthony Maniscalco is recognised as one of the most exciting genre-blending house producers to come on the scene in recent years.
Having released his debut record ‘The Number Cruncher EP’ back in 2004 on Ministry of Sounds ‘Hussle ‘n’ Bussle’ label to wide acclaim, it was his 2006 single ‘Vegas Heat’ that made the international dance community stand up and listen.
His 2006 release ‘The Bump’ was a collaboration with Australian breakbeat Don, Kid Kenobi. This record received an ARIA nomination, was licensed to numerous compilations worldwide, including the 2007 Ministry of Sound Annual, Mashed 3 and Maximum Bass 3.
Hook n Sling and Kid Kenobi also collaborated together on a remix for Who Made Who’s ‘Out The Door’, which featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2007 and the 2007 Annual.
Anthony’s first outing for 2008 was his much awaited 3 track ‘Plastic Wrap EP’, with the title track making its way onto Ministry of Sound’s Clubbers Guide to 2008 (which he mixed alongside Sam La More) and the b side ‘Hooked Up’ features on the Ministry of Sound Electro House Sessions 2 compilation.
Anthony’s personal remix discography is a testament to his talent, having remixed such tracks as Sarah Mcleod’s ‘He Doesn’t Love You’ (featured on the 2007 Ministry of Sound Annual and Kink Vol 2), Tonite Only ‘Danger’, Toby Neal’s ‘Do You Really Want My Love’, Bass Kleph’s ‘Coup D’etat’ (which featured on Ministry of Sounds 2007 Electro House Sessions), Stanton Warriors ‘Shake It Up’ (featured on Ministry of Sound Clubber's Guide to 2007 and the 2008 Annual), and more recently his remix of Cobra Dukes ‘Leave The Light On’ featured on the Ministry of Sound Clubbers Guide to 2008.
