If the sibling duo of house DJs, THE STAFFORD BROTHERS, doesn’t ring a bell, then one
must wonder where you’ve been hiding for the past few years. The rise and rise of Matt and Chris Stafford over the past ten years has been an unrestrained
assault on the International DJ elite. From humble beginnings in New Zealand to
their current position on the brink of International superstardom, they are
sure to continue pushing their beats through sound systems and onto packed
dance floors around the world well into the next decade.
Taking the Australian summer with them the Stafford Brothers will be touring Asia,
Dominican Republic, Brazil, Argentina for 2010, and will of course be touching back
down in the UK and Europe once again for summer shows and tour dates. On the
production front the Stafford’s are showing no sign of any let up with forthcoming
Ministry of Sound tracks ‘Wasted’ and ‘Gone’, and collaborations with the
Hoxton Whores, Darbruck and Klein, and Felix Baumgartner. 
If that was not enough the Stafford Brothers have found time to deliver another compilation
CD mix packed with their feel-good party dance music in the form of Ministry of
Sound ‘Sessions Seven’ alongside Steve Aoki & Tommy Trash….

In less than 30 words, how would you describe your music?

Party starting rocking music. Definitely music for the dance floor.

Who are your musical idols and inspirations?

Right now the Sweedish house mafia are smashing it. I also love acts like ACDC, they are inspirational, and still rocking. There is so much music out there at the moment that you are forever being inspired, at the same time there is a lot of rubbish getting released!

Favourite club to do a set and why?

Lately Soho has been rocking, we really enjoy it there, good crowd and good people. Ive always enjoyed Chinese laundry as well, small rocking sweaty room!

Favourite gig you've played to date?

There are just way to many to narrow it down to one. I would say this year the future music festival tour was an amazing experience for us, every show was rocking and a great time. We also had a great time on tour overseas earlier this year. One day we were playing in Santo Domingo and having a beach party, the next day we were in Meribel France Djing and Snowboarding, GREAT TIMES!

We plan to break into your car - what can we expect to find in your CD player?

Some black leather seats! We are only home a couple of days a week when in Australia so our cars don’t get used that much, so they are nice and tidy, with nothing in them. You might find a surfboard if you were lucky!

Your fool proof hangover cure?

Well if you want to keep partying just start again, but if you are trying to get back to reality I would recommend the good old bacon and eggs! Lots of water, and a sauna is also an amazing thing.

Is getting laid a big part of being a DJ?

It definitely happens, lets be honest I think a lot of people have picked up in nightclubs, whether they are DJs or not.

One record you're embarrassed to admit you own?

Well my first record was a Madonna album, which wasn’t really that cool as a young guy.

The weirdest thing a fan has ever done?

A girl in Adelaide made a singlet with some pretty sexual comments on it about what she was going to do to us, but it was all in good fun. We really haven’t had any bad experiences just lots of good times.

One thing you're willing to confess to your fellow Munkys?

We are actually sisters.
