In less than 30 words, how would you describe your music?
My music can’t be put into a box as it changes with every release. I make hardstyle if that’s the genre you are looking for but I try to explore all the different elements of dance music.
Who are your musical idols and inspirations?
For me my musical impressions are my friends, family and colleagues. We all have a lot of interest in the music we make. We are constantly talking about ways in which we can make our music better and also creatively different.
Favourite club to do a set and why?
Oooh, that’s a hard one as I have had the pleasure of playing at a lot of them over the years. Ones that have really stood out would have to be the X-Qlusive Showtek party back in 2008, I was the only local hardstyle DJ to play and the response I received from my home crowd was amazing.
Favourite gig you've played to date?
I would have to say Defqon.1 Festival 2009 in Sydney. I played on the main stage of the first ever edition of Defqon.1 in Australia. It was an amazing experience to be apart of that party and see all the people going off to the music I love!
We plan to break into your car - what can we expect to find in your CD player?
Well unfortunately I don’t have a car anymore. If I did have one or if I am borrowing someone else’s car. You would hear music from AC/DC, 50’s Swing, Jazz, Deadmau5, Pendulum, Dean Martin and maybe even some hardstyle in there somewhere. I don’t usually listen to the same music everyday, it really depends on how I am feeling.
Your fool proof hangover cure?
There are hangover cures? Tell me tell me!!!! When I am back in Australia then I love to get takeaway Chinese food and lay on the couch and watch movies all day! In Holland I don’t usually get any sympathy so I am always made to do something on that day.
Is getting laid a big part of being a DJ?
Isn’t it apart of every guy’s life?
One record you're embarrassed to admit you own?
I have had some beauties in my time!! I once owned and possibly still own a Celine Dion record, every time I used to go and mix at a friends house when I was starting out, we used to try and hide it in each others bag so we didn’t have to keep it. Unfortunately it always ended up back with me.
The weirdest thing a fan has ever done?
The weirdest and scariest thing a fan has ever done was drive around the area I lived in until he found my house and then proceeded to tell me all the things that were around my house. This was a little disturbing and fortunately I don’t see him anymore.
One thing you're willing to confess to your fellow Munkys?
The other week I went and watched beach volleyball in the local town I live in Holland, I was extremely drunk! When I got home, because I had been wrestling in the sand from the volleyball pits, my girlfriend made me strip all of my clothes off before I entered the house. When she went to put them in the washing machine I ran off and was running around the house naked and she found me laying down in the back yard on the ground (we live with her parents).
