About me

First bonding over their love of synthesisers on the LA club scene, the
duo cite a heady mix of influences and tenuously balance the
genre-bending blend of dance and rock music to formulate anthems that
are the stuff of sweaty dance floor dreams.

With three singles already storming local radio, festivals and music
television, and a forthcoming debut album set to drop in July, the time
has come to feast your ears on their new single ‘2.0’ – the tune with an indie-pop flavour so infectious, it should come with a warning.

Favourite club to do a set and why?

Simon: I always have amazing dj gigs at the Chinese Laundry

Favourite gig you've played to date?

Simon: the Crazy Girls gig we did in LA the other week was pretty epic and doing the Future Music Festival Tour in 2010 was amazing also

We plan to break into your car - what can we expect to find in your CD player?

Carter: whateva track I’m working on lyrics for at the time

Your fool proof hangover cure?

Carter: Use ONLY in cases of extreme emergency. Hangover equivalent of listening to the Grateful Dead on a bad trip. U’ll understand when the time comes: 1.Aspirin 2.Club Sandwich (no bacon? call the whole thing off) 3. cheesiest romantic comedy with Sandra Bullock you can find. Turn the volume waaaay down low & listen to 4. Broken Bells. (You have some leeway on this last one, but PLS no Radiohead. We all love Radiohead but in the state u're in, combined w the Bullock u could suffer permanent damage)

Is getting laid a big part of being a DJ?

Carter : A penetrating question. But clearly since most DJ’s are wearing purity rings these days, id say its kind of a non-issue, right?

One record you're embarrassed to admit you own?

Simon: I dont think id be embarrassed about any of them actually except its kinda hard to explain away why you have the entire Coldplay discography on your itunes sometimes. I have no excuse for that

The weirdest thing a fan has ever done?

Carter : I celebrate weirdness. Just no guns pls America.

One thing you're willing to confess to your fellow Munkys?

Carter : my two year old niece ghost writes most of the lyrics
