About me

Telefunken is Boffa and Cam, a music-mad pair playing up a storm on the turn-tables of Sydney and beyond. With over 18 years combined DJ experience, the telefunken duo teamed up in 2005 after playing a gig together at the Slip Inn. They found their sounds were similar with a love for the deeper techy side of house.  They found a natural groove with both their mixing and programming and above all were having a blast whilst still keeping the punters happy on the dance-floor.

In less than 30 words, how would you describe your music?

House music for robots. Or you could say deep house, with a dash of tech house.

Who are your musical idols and inspirations?

Phonique, DJ T, Steve Bug, Vincenzo, Chris Duckenfield, Audiofly, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Tiefschwaz, M.A.N.D.Y, Motor City Drum ensemble, Luna City Express and Motorcitysoul.

Favourite club to do a set and why?

Spice on the home terrace. The crowds always up for what ever you want to dish out, week in week out, one of the only places in Sydney where you can play your set exactly how you want to and its rocking every week.

Favourite gig you've played to date?

Warming up for Underworld in the Hordern Pavillion at this years We Love Sounds. We've always wanted to play the Hordern and to do so before Underworld was pretty crazy.

We plan to break into your car - what can we expect to find in your CD player?

Probably t-shirts, sneakers and CD cases, possibly a BMX and a couple of surfboards.

Your fool proof hangover cure?

If one exists please let us know... Normally opt for water, vitamin B, nurofen plus and Maccas coke.

Is getting laid a big part of being a DJ?

Um No. If thats a big part of why you're a DJ then you need to have a serious look at yourself. People DJing because they think it makes them cool or might get the laid need to F*#K right off.

One record you're embarrassed to admit you own?

Fine Young Cannibals – She drives me crazy, haha

The weirdest thing a fan has ever done?

One chick came up to us crying because she loved the track we were playing that mach... yeah that was weird.

One thing you're willing to confess to your fellow Munkys?

We have a tend to speak on the phone in english accents on the odd occasion.
